Come and celebrate Native Plant Appreciation Day with us by caring for our recently planted trees along the Papakura Stream. Weeds like bindweed grow rapidly and strangle young trees. We need your help to release them and give them the best chance of survival. On the day you will be led by experienced team leaders who are keen to share their knowledge of native plants and conservation in Aotearoa.
This event will go ahead rain or shine, however in the case of severe weather we will contact all volunteers who have registered via email to inform of any cancellations.
What to wear: Please wear sturdy, comfortable footwear and preferably something you don’t mind getting muddy (gumboots, hiking shoes, work boots, trainers), appropriate outdoor clothing (lightweight long sleeved clothing and trousers are encouraged to protect yourself from cuts and scratches and insect bites/stings).
What to bring: CVNZ will supply all of the tools and equipment required for the day. Please bring with you a hat, waterproof jacket, sunblock, a snack, water and any medication you may need (hayfever medication, inhalers etc). We will have extra water, sunblock, snacks and insect repellent with us on the day.
