Fair Food Volunteering

Library Seed Swap

Seeds are the little suitcases that store the evolution of plant species and the culture of their growers - Josie Jeffery. Share and exchange seeds and growing tips with your neighbours through the Avondale Library Seed Swap. The Seed Swap will operate throughout the month during the library's opening hours.

Only once a year private properties allow access to Te Henga Wetland over the Waitakere River, as a fundraiser for eco-restoration project Matuku Link.
All gear and training provided for a two hour trip, starting 9am, 11am, 1pm or 3pm.
Cost is $65 pp incl training and gear.

Professional entomologists will help you identify as many insect as we can find at Matuku Link’s forest and wetland edge at this evening walk. We will be looking for caddisflies, craneflies, freshwater insects and might find weta, stick insects, spiders and glowworms! The ticket fee covers a drink and snack to keep you going and guarantees your place for this event. The event runs from 7pm to 10pm and you can join as long as you like.
