Re-wear, Re-pair, Reimagine is a glamourous take on sustainability hosted by the beautiful Constance Maraj, featuring local designers such as Jeanine Clarkin and Heke Designs, all accompanied by beats from Onternet. WISCA will also be showcasing a fine selection of preloved designer styles on the catwalk and for purchase.

Mindful Yoga with Mel Burdett

The Glade (the grass area near the Empire Avenue entrance to McKenzie Reserve)
Mel will guide a “Mindful Yoga” session in the stunning surroundings of McKenzie Reserve. Whilst Mindful Yoga can be energetic, its main purpose is to cultivate mind-body awareness and a natural state of ease and presence. After a mindful yoga class, you will feel calm yet energised. No Yoga experience or a certain flexibility or fitness needed - if you can breathe, you can do Mindful Yoga! Please bring a yoga mat, a towel, and water to drink! If there is rain on Saturday 18th March, the session will take place on Sunday 19th March instead.

Reuse, repurpose, recycle and sparkle! Festival Fashion crafting workshop

Join us for a 2-hour workshop where we will share our tips and tricks to support you in crafting your very own unique party accessory. Whether it’s your favourite old hat which has seen better days, a funky shaped hat you found at the OpShop, or a discarded accessory from your wardrobe, we will help you give it a new lease on life. Don’t have the perfect item for a project? Fret not, we will have a small selection of preloved hats at hand, or if you’d like to go bigger and brighter we can provide you with a pre-loved parasol ready to be adorned and re-loved for an optional extra $25 cash on the day. On hand, we will have the tools needed for your crafting delight, including a selection of rescued materials to use as decorations. We will share our creative and technical advice, our party styling expertise, as well as some funky beats to help the creative process.

Otakawhe Wetland Awareness and Working Bee

We are launching a community led project to restore a vital wetland habitat.Come to meet the neighbors, share the mahi and some baking. Wear protective clothing, bring tools such as scythes, secateurs etc.

Gardening is about the fulfilment of growing your own, knowing what Kai is gonna be on your whānau dinner table, and getting the sweet stress relief and happiness from being outside.
Whether you have your own gardening space already or not, come and add to your routine by spending time with other locals at our community gardens.
All are welcome, bring snacks to share for morning tea!

Eco Village Working Bee

Come along and join our monthly working bees at Awaawaroa Bay Eco Village. This is a hands on activity where you'll get to experience first hand, life on an eco village. Tasks might include fruit tree maintenance, track clearing, weed control in the ngāhere, gardening and more. Hats, long sleeves/trousers and sturdy foot wear a must. Bring your lunch and a water bottle. Please do not bring dogs.

Te Whau peninsula stoat eradication walk with Te Korowai o Waiheke

Enjoy a beautiful coastal scenic walk along the south side of the Te Whau peninsula with Frank Lepera, Stoat Operations Manager and Charlie Thomas, Monitoring technician. Frank will talk about the tools and techniques that are being used to detect and catch stoats in the area, and Charlie will lead enlightening 5 minute bird counts along the way. A moderate level of fitness is required.
